Miley Cyrus is returning to her Disney roots with “Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions),” a new special presentation set to premiere on Disney+. Before she became one of the world’s top pop stars, Cyrus starred as the titular character in “Hannah Montana.” The series launched her career, but it also took the “Flowers” singer quite a bit of time to distance herself from the fictional singer she played as a teen.
That makes her return to Disney all the more special. This time around, Cyrus won’t be playing a character, instead she’ll be performing songs from her eighth studio album, “Endless Summer Vacation,” for the first time. That includes her hit single “Flowers.”
Additionally, Cyrus filmed the special at Frank Sinatra’s old house in Hollywood. The house also provided the backdrop for her “Flowers” video earlier this year.
In addition to performing her new songs, the musical performances will be intertwined with clips from an interview with the pop star. Her special also marks the return of her “Backyard Sessions,” a recurring series featuring the singer and her band performing outdoors. She kicked off the series in 2012 and went on to bring it back again in 2015 and 2020.
